μField Day June 8

µField Day is on for June 8th, from 11:00 am to 3:00pm, again at the Camarillo Airport at the VCFD Training Grounds. Yes, that is TOMORROW! The actual spot is a few dozen feet to the south of where we have been meeting, at 34.2081, -119.0722. Take the 101 to the Las Posas exit and head South to Pleasant Valley Road, and turn right/West. Then turn right on Airport Way (there’s a traffic light there.) Take that a few short blocks until it ends, and make another right on Durley. It will curve first to the left and then the right, and come to a gate. Turn right again and look for the hams.

This part of the facility has picnic tables, several trees, and even some grass. It should be a very pleasant spot. Plus, the weather is going to be perfect; I got a guarantee on that.

Why have µField Day so close to ARRL Field Day? Because it’s so close to ARRL Field Day! This is the last best chance to haul out your Field Day gear before the big day and make sure everything is working, and that you remember how to use that portable radio that hasn’t been out for a year. It will be a nice chance to rub elbows with people operating at different sites for FD too. And don’t forget that Sunday Night, June 23rd, there will be a Zoom meeting for all clubs and hams hosted by the BORED Net (details in other posts).
