Time once again for µField Day, April 29th at Rancho Potrero. We’re into the best time of year-not too cold, not too hot, not much concern about rain or winds…if there’s anything better than hanging around with a bunch of your fellow hams, it’s setting up your own station for some portable operating. We’ve got a LOT of new hams in the county, and this is always a good opportunity to get them on the HF bands.
On maps it’s the “Rancho Potrero West Entrance” from 11:00 to 3:00pm. This is next to the horse rental/boarding facility on Potrero Road in Dos Vientos, up the hill from Cal State Channel Islands. The GPS location is 34.155935, -118.982024. If you’re familiar with what3words.com, it’s barbershop.state.ribbing. Bring your own refreshments. There are restrooms at the site, but no electricity-bring those batteries. Hope to see you there!
µField Day for May is going to be at the Dudley House with the Ventura County Amateur Radio Club on May 13th, and is being done along with a VE session…more details coming soon.
