UPDATE…the weather looks like it will be our friend today…see you all at Freedom Park.
The weather outside is frightful…but since people keep asking, I am still planning on being there for µField Day tomorrow. Unless authorities recommend not doing so, that is. I hope we get a lot of people out to play around in what will be the last remnants of this storm, but no one should come if there is any danger involved, period.
I’ve got a couple of planned setups depending on what the conditions are when I get there, from a popup with the concrete weights that worked really well during Santa To The Sea (very windy and rainy, if you were there you remember!) to an HF radio and laptop in the back seat of my car with a magmount antenna. A little winter weather is fun as long as you dress for it.
We’ll talk in on 147.885 MHz, minus offset 127.3, and 145.200, minus offset 127.3. If conditions force the closure of the park, roads in the area, or anything else affecting safety, we’ll pull the plug on the event and get the word out on these repeaters.
See you Saturday!
